When we talk about anti-racism,
we're talking about
applying social activism to combat injustice... holistically. Intersectionally.
bringing social activism into your heart and applying it to every aspect of your life. for the rest of your life.
that's what we're talking about
and we're talking about it too late
and we're talking about it with heavy sorrow in our hearts
but it's about time we carry the fucking load.
it's long past the time that we own up to our ancestors crimes,
for how else could we ever expect to heal ourselves-
over the lives of others?
no.
civil rights are life
it's time for us to start worrying about healing someone else
and when i say "be an activist"
i am not saying "be a hero"
you are not nor will you be the hero
in this story
no,
in the large scheme of things your role may be merely insignificant
so what?
act with compassion anyway
act with intention anyway
act like your decisions and your choices have an impact on this planet and it's people, anyway.
in every aspect of your life
for the rest of your life.
